Friday was another productive day for CP’s MLB athletes:

Steve Cishek (Marlins) extended his record to 4-0 on the season with three scoreless innings of relief. After Heath Bell blew his fourth save in seven opportunities, Steve once again came in to clean up the mess. Steve now has an ERA of 0.63 and is considered the favorite to assume closing duties should Manager Ozzie Guillen choose to go in a new direction. Recap

Tim Collins (Royals) did his job, striking out Alex Rodriguez in a third of an inning of work against the New York Yankees. Tim now has a strikeout to walk ratio of 20:3 in just 14.2 innings of work in 2012. Stats

Steve Cishek (Marlins) entered a jam in the ninth inning and managed to minimize the damage left by Marlins closer Heath Bell. Steve kept the game tied to send it to extra innings and ended up earning the win thanks to Giancarlo Stanton’s go-ahead homerun in the 10^th. The Marlins went on to beat the Giants 3-2. Recap
