Yesterday it was brought to my attention that we haven’t got the ball rolling on our seasonal intern “orientation” process. In the past, we’ve taken this concept in a couple of different directions. If you intern at CP during the fall, you can be damn sure you’ll find yourself coaching in an adorable little Halloween costume on October 31st.

If you are fortunate enough to be a summer intern, you have the privilege of completing our “Intern Death Circuit”, which includes some farmer’s walks, a few walking lunges while holding an empty keg overhead, a couple of trips pushing the sled, and a grand finale of some sledge hammer work on the tire. The key to making this event fun is 1) creating an activity which encourages the interns to compete for a good time, result, etc. 2) making sure to have a good audience of CP staff and clients around to make a little noise, and 3) recording the entire mess of “exercise” to make for some quality blog material.

To get a feel for what I’m talking about, take a look at Eric’s recap of the summer ‘09 intern hazing experience HERE

Here we are almost half way through the winter/spring internship and we haven’t come up with a quality intern hazing game-plan. I’d like to open it up to some recommendations from the readers to make for an entertaining experience… All I ask is that we keep it competitive on some level, we push the guys hard, and maybe I have the chance to get a picture of an intern bent over the trash barrel trying to keep down his lunch when all is said and done. Is that too much to ask?
